Another big win for Cardi B. On Thursday night (March 14), the Bronx superstar took home the trophy for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

In a field that included commercial juggernauts like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and Travis Scott, Bardi’s win is no small feat. It’s also not really that surprising.
Just a bit less than a year ago, Cardi set the tone for 2018 by dropping off Invasion of Privacy, a breakout debut album that included hard-hitting bars and commercial-friendly music that established her as a legit superstar. Last month, that LP won her a gramophone for Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Now that she’s got a new LP on the way, she could very well repeat the accomplishment next year.
