YEARS LATER: Cardi B’s Appearance at the 2019 Met Gala

One year ago, Cardi wore a custom Thom Browne couture creation to the Met Gala. This would be Cardi’s second Met Gala appearance, with her first being in 2018.

The moment has been called one of the greatest Met Gala outfits of ALL TIME by Vogue Magazine.

The creation of the gown took 35 people 2,000 hours to complete. The dress featured $500,000 in rubies and over 30,000 feathers. Cardi was the decision maker when it came to wearing the headpiece.

Cardi’s 2019 Met Gala gown made Anna Wintour fall in love with Cardi’s style. The gown ultimately helped Cardi become the FIRST female rapper to appear on the cover of American Vogue.

Throughout the day, Vogue will look back at highlights from previous years, from breathtaking red-carpet ensembles to memorable moments.

The day will conclude with “A Moment with the Met”—an intimate celebration, available via livestream exclusively on YouTube. “A Moment With the Met” will begin at 6 p.m. EDT on May 4, featuring an address by Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, a special live performance by Florence and the Machine, and a DJ set from Virgil Abloh. State Farm is the exclusive sponsor of “A Moment With the Met.”

The pair will most likely speak about Cardi’s 2018 Met Gala look, designed by Jeremy! Anna Wintour mentioned that she only invited her friends to participate! We are not yet sure if it was pre-recorded.

[VIDEO]: 73 Questions with Cardi B with Vogue

Cardi B does a little Q&A video with fashion blog, Vogue in a brand new interview video.

The interview takes place at Cardi’s grandmother’s modest home in Washington Heights, while she holds a napping baby Kulture. Cardi hits on motherhood, the music industry and her album and even Facetimes Offset for a quick chat.

As far as her heavily anticipated sophomore LP, Cardi says the 2020 effort will be “spicy” and “controversial.” She previously told Billboard that the album is on her mind “24/7” and she won’t be following the current trends in rap. “I still gotta go with what I want to do,” Cardi said earlier this month.
